Already from our birth our living leaves traces. Every step we take and
every happening in our life are a sign that stands as a mark of our
activity. The most individual trace for humans is the fingerprint. It is our
privacy and it is special for each of us. It is our mark of who we are. We can both
be protected and disclosed through the print.

But are we aware of all the other traces we
leave everywhere?
When we are using the technology
for social connections we are leaving traces whenever we for example send a
SMS, post pictures or videos. Using the telephone or the Internett, every click we do makes a difference. Did you know
that the picture you lay out on Facebook always will be out there somewhere?
Using the Internet for shopping and other assignments, we often are told to
leave our date of born and other personal information like our address and
family relations. Who can grab this facts? Where can it land?
The European Convention on Human Rights is through several articles, protecting our privacy. Article numer 8 is specialy taking care of our correspondence and public safety. Children are even beeing protected through FNs Children Convention. Here the childrens rights are specially taking care of. Even though we are social humans, we have a need of priavacy. It may be difficult to value, and many do not understand this significance before its to late and the information is spred all over the world. What can we do then? The website Slett Meg may help you. Our yougers are big users of the technology that the community offer. It`s a part of their life, every day, and even many times in a day. They use it for talking, blogging, reading news, posting pictures and much more. As adults it would be wrong of us refusing them the right to use it. Our job must be prepearing them for the challenges they will meet as users. We must learn them both the positive and the negative attemps in using technology for social connections.
I think it`s important that this knowledge is given as early as possible to the children. We can`t stop the evolution, but we can be a parat shaping it, in some way. Learning our new generation about how to protect themselves and others privacy, would be a good start I think both parents and teachers have a responsability on this area. As adult we have a job to do, and we should do it along with the youngers.
